In print production , there are three main finishes to choose from:
matte, satin, and glossy.
Matte or Matt print finish is characterised by its non-reflective finish. It has a subtle texture that diffuses light rather than reflecting it, giving it a soft and natural appearance.
Satin finish is low-gloss and falls between matte and glossy, giving designs a subtle sheen without too much reflection. It's great for eye-catching designs on brochures, flyers, and business cards.
Glossy finish is shiny and reflective, making it perfect for designs with vibrant colors and high contrast. It's commonly used for printing photographs, posters, and marketing materials. A glossy print finish also has different variants such as semi-gloss and high gloss, with a semi-gloss finish not being quite as shiny / reflective as a glossy or high gloss finish.
